Happy Thanksgiving!

November 17th, 2005

Had a great weekend last week while I was in NorCal, but I really should start working out now…

Friday:
Dinner with the CornerStone Volleyball Folks, Susan’s foil wrapped Chicken is yummy. Then I went to Milpitas with a friend from my UCSC days for a round of Chinese mango puddings, sago desserts, and Hong Kong milk tea. we then headed over to Hayward to meet up with another UCSC friend for a round of poker and booze til 5am.

Saturday:
Woke up and went down to Santa Cruz to meet up with a bunch of UCSC people for lunch at HindQuarters. Then headed out to the mystery spot, but it was a 2 hour wait for the next tour. So we ditched that idea and drove/walked around in the UCSC campus for a very nostalgic tour around the bookstore. We also walked up to the 3rd floor college 8 hallway where we stayed during our freshmen year 10 years ago. ahh, the memories… After the trip down memory lane, we went down to the Santa Cruz Wharf for a bowl of Clam Chowder. After the wharf, we drove back up to the bay area where I met up with my parents for dinner at some Chinese restaurant across from Classic Bowl. The food was so so… Then I drove back over to Hayward to pickup some friends for a Chinese dessert run over in Downtown Oakland.

Sunday:
Woke up and went to Porridge House to pickup some Chinese Fried Bread Sticks (油炸鬼) for dipping into my Mom’s home cooked porridge for brunch. Then headed over to Alameda for some Japanese Sushi goodness with some friends from UCD.

Yea, can anybody tell i missed asian food?

I am home!

Took me friggin 6 hours to get from the valley to SF with the traffic on the 405 and then me getting off the freeway for 5 pit stops… I think i am getting sick. Sob

It was raining on the 405 until i got through the mountains. Traffic was pretty bad at the 405/5 junction.

Yay for LA traffic!

Freedom on the roads after the ikea on the 5.

What freedom gave me.

AND I AM HOME!!!

I had a stupid grin all the way from Redwood City to Daly City as the realization of being home at last sank in. It’s good to be home.

  • Me: borders please
  • Cabbie: ok
  • …few minutes of driving, heads towards the freeway…
  • Me: err isn’t borders the bookstore that way?
  • Cabbie: i thought u wanted to go to Mexico.
